This project is a follow-up of the "Beatles-project" that started in '92 and culminated with a trip to England and concerts in Bournemouth the summer of '96. The "Beatles-project" was seen by a total audience of app. 12000 during 22 concerts in places such as "Grieghallen" in Bergen and The Norwegian Theatre in Oslo. The project got favourable coverage in the papers, and on radio and TV.

Norsk Hydro in Årdal celebrated their 50'th anniversary in Mai of '97. As a 'thank you' for good support in the years of the "Beatles-project", the project made a new production as a gift to the company. Bjarne Øren had a suggestion for a production, and presented a sketch of music, costume and stage layout. He got the go-ahead to proceed with planning in the spring of '96, when the ensemble was preparing to go to England. As conductor for three of the participating units, two choirs and a marching band, he was responsible for conducting the initial rehearsals of the new project. With his son Jan Roger and Stein Ivar Mortensen, the arranger of the "Beatles-project", he compiled a final program of app.30 tunes from musicals and movies. Lead singers, choirs, marching bands and accompanying musicians were recruited from the local community, just as with the "Beatles-project". Roughly 200 performers were on stage for the premiere concert in Årdal on the 21'st of May '97. Jan Erik Øyre was in charge of administrative management while his son Trond handled the PA. Bjarne took care of lights and stage management, and Jan Roger conducted. When the CD was made, a total audience of 7500 had seen the new project with 200 performers from a small community of 6000 inhabitants.
